golfers flexor stretch There are many of stretches that you can do for carpal tunnel but not all are created equal!

Some have been scientifically proven to be more effective in relieving carpal tunnel pain and decreasing pressure along your median nerve. One of the best carpal tunnel exercises and stretches you can do is called the golfers flexor stretch.

It strategically and specifically targets the extensors and supinator muscles of the lower forearm.  These muscles tend to get overworked and stressed on a daily basis but we never stop to stretch them or relieve the tension that can build up between the tissues.

It’s not until we experience pain in our wrist and hands that we choose to do something about it!

1. Stand with a relaxed posture and extend your left arm down in front of you, with your palm facing left and your thumb pointing down to the floor.

2. Swing your right arm over your left arm and bring the palms of your hands together.

3. Slowly use your right hand to twist your left hand towards the center until
your left palm is facing up.

4. Hold this stretch for at least 30 seconds. You may have to go longer until
you feel the tension release in your hand.

5. Repeat this stretch for the opposite hand

Remember that repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome usually get worse the longer you wait to treat them. The longer you wait, the more damage is usually done which can result in a longer recovery period.
